Technical Specifications for natural stone carpet floors
PIEDRA stone carpet is a practical cast floor from a mixture of fine natural pebbles and binders. It is a versatile final surface and the PIEDRA surface mix is an original certified health-conscious product.
Stone carpet PIEDRA guarantees high strength, longevity and durability. The advantage is that the special binder applied with the PIEDRA stone carpet is several times more solid than concrete and therefore the PIEDRA surface is very strong and resistant to extreme loads even at lower surface thicknesses.
Another undisputed advantage of natural stone carpet flooring is that the surface is flawless and is simply shaped to the dimension of a particular area. There is no so-called pruning, which must be added to the purchase price of ordinary surfaces. At the same time, the substrate does not have to be level during application / laying of the natural carpet floor.
We offer PIEDRA natural stone carpets in more than 100 colour variants and sizes of pebbles.
Home flooring stone carpets are composed of natural river gravel which is dredged from river beds throughout Europe.
Sizes are varied from 2mm + and are screened multiple times for quality, size, and shape, creating a mixed balance for aesthetics, application and easy maintenance.
The stone-gravel can be dyed into hundreds of shades of colour and using the RAL system, any colour can be achieved. Stone carpet floor stones are mixed on site with an epoxy resin and are then applied by professional floor fitters into seamless and level flooring.
Any colour combinations can be mixed to become an elegant design once applied to the sub-floor surface for residential homes, industrial work spaces and outside.
Natural stone carpet FAQs
Is a natural stone carpet guaranteed ?
Yes! The confidence in our own quality and recognizing the importance of optimum service for all customers of Odefloor natural stone carpets, is the reason we give a five year guarantee for our product. The increase of the guarantee period of three to five years is thanks to the continuing optimization of quality control by Odefloor floor systems.
Are natural stone carpets cold or hard ?
They are of porous nature, so naturally they are warm. In comparison to a timber floor, they have the same heat ratings. It's a structured floor finish as apposed to a slab finish. And they are also very durable – they don't mark easily and don't chip.
Stone carpets costs compared to other flooring systems ?
That really depends on what other type of flooring systemyou compare it to. Our natural stone carpets are a high quality floor covering using natural stones, which is as warm and as durable as any hard wooded floor or ceramic flooring with the benefit of being seamless and anti dust resistant. If you calculate how much supply and fit will cost you with a hard wood floor or porcelain tile, you will realise that per square metre stone carpet flooring is equally competitive.
How long will stone carpets last – will the colour fade?
Our stone carpet floors can last a lifetime and stone carpet flooring doesn't fade. All our stones are pre-treated with a resin to ensure that sunlight or artificial light doesn't have any impact on them.
Are stone carpets easy to keep clean? Will dirt get into the pores?
After a natural stone carpet is laid, it is then covered with an epoxy sealer and left to dry for 24 hours. This sealer fills the pores thus ensuring no dirt, food or grime gets lodged between the pores.
To clean it, simply use a sweeping brush or even a vacuum cleaner. It can also be shampooed like a conventional carpet.
